Ransom Bolden

Ransom Bolden, 85, of Ashland, passed away in Ripley, Mississippi,  on March 9, 2025.  He was born in Marshall County on April 4, 1939, to Jeston Bolden and Mary Magdalene Skelton Bolden.  Mr Bolden was a farmer and a United States Army Veteran. He loved the outdoors and he especially loved to hunt, fish, and play softball.

Mr Bolden is survived by his wife of fifty nine years, Judy Lane Hudspeth, and a daughter, Jennifer Bolden Thompson (Greg) of Ashland.  He also leaves four grandchildren, Scott Thompson (Anna), Michael Thompson (Nikki), Molly Humphreys (Weston) and Ben Bolden (Michelle), and four sisters, Dot Allen of Moscow, Tennessee, Betty Jean Carpenter of Independence, Corrine Bloor of Moscow, and Dianne Marshall of Memphis, and five great grandchildren. Mr Bolden was preceded in death by a son, Timmy Bolden, and two brothers, Lonnie Bolden and John Frank Bolden.

Graveside services for Mr Bolden will be held at Ashland Cemetery on Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at noon.  A visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday evening, March 11, from 5:00 until 8:00 pm at the Holly Springs Funeral Home.

Jennifer you and Timmy were blessed with a great father and mother. Mourn for him but always remember the good times you shared with your dad and mother. I remember basketball trips and dinners especially. My deepest sympathy for you and Judy and your families. Diane
