Helen Louise Brown

Helen Louise Brown, 80, a long-time resident of Collierville and former resident of Red Banks, Mississippi, passed away in Huntingdon, Tennessee, on March 2, 2025.  She was born on December 2, 1944, in Cordova, Tennessee, to  James M Brown and Clara Nolan Brown.  Miss Brown was a homemaker, and served in the United States Army WAC (Women's Army Corp) from 1965-1968, when she was honorably discharged.  She was the first female veteran resident and longest residing veteran at Huntingdon Health and Rehabilitation Center. She devoted her life caring for others, whether it be soldiers coming back from war, her parents, or her sisters. 


Helen is survived by her sister-in-law Dulaine Brown and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, by her sister Mildred Brown, brother Tommy Brown, half siblings: Martha Byrd, Magalene Perry, Mary Rosson, Clyde Rosson, and Lloyd Rosson. 


Services for Miss Brown will be held in the Chapel of the Magnolia Cemetery in Collierville on March 22, 2025 at 11:00 am. The officiating minister will be her nephew, Jeff Brown.
