Martain Vanzant Jr, 95, of Holly Springs, passed away at Methodist Hospital in Germantown, on October 14, 2024. He was born in Lynn, Alabama, on June 22, 1929, to Martain Vanzant Sr and Rosa Hisaw Vanzant. Mr Vanzant was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict and was a rural mail carrier. He was a graduate of both Northwest Community College and the University of Mississippi.
Mr Vanzant is survived by two sons, Raymon Allan Vanzant of Cordova, Tennessee, and Fred Martain Vanzant (Caty) of Middleboro, Massachusetts, and a daughter, Dr Rebecca Vanzant of Germantown. He also leaves a sister, Quay Wester of Memphis. Mr Vanzant was preceded in death by his wife of fifty seven years ,Mary Ruth Collins Vanzant. He and his wife, Mary Ruth, loved to camp, and loved to travel the country. He was widely known as one who could fix anything.
Graveside services for Mr Vanzant will be held on Monday, October 21, 2024, at 1:00 pm, Hill Crest Cemetery in Holly Springs. The Holly Springs Funeral Home has charge.
