Margaret Strickland Byrd, 92, of Southaven, Mississippi, passed away at her home on January 21, 2025. She was born in Slayden, Mississippi, on May 16, 1932, to Arthur Strickland and Ora Bell Strickland. Mrs Byrd was a caregiver.
Mrs Byrd, the widow of W E Byrd, is survived by a son, Randy Byrd of Brooksville, Florida, and a sister, Betty Scott of Southaven. She also leaves four grandchildren, Carleton Rowland, Eric Byrd, Wade Byrd, and Jessica Matkin, and eight great grandchildren, Abby Rowland, Ella Rowland, Landon Byrd, Cambron Byrd, Ella Byrd, Kinsey Byrd, Zoe Matkin, and Kylie Matkin. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a daughter, Gail Bledsoe, a brother, C D Strickland, four sisters, Alma Flynn, Dena Tomlinson, Dot Hooker, and Pat Cook, and a great grandchild, Quinten Perez.
Graveside services for Mrs Byrd will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at 11:00 am, at Hill Crest Cemetery. The Holly Springs Funeral Home has charge. |
