Lola Faye Teel Dickerson

 
Lola Faye Teel Dickerson passed away at the age of 84 on Friday, January 10, 2025, at Baptist Memorial Hospital North Mississippi in Oxford. Friends and family are invited to a visitation with the family on Monday, January 13, 2025, from 12 pm until 2 pm with the service to follow at 2 pm all at the Holly Springs Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at Hillcrest Cemetery in Holly Springs. Reverend Bob Sharman and Colter Teel will officiate.
Lola Faye was born on January 3, 1941, to Curtis and Donnie Teel in Mt. Pleasant, Mississippi. Lola Faye was the youngest child with five older brothers. She graduated from Marshall County Agricultural High School in 1960. Lola Faye married Alton Gwen Dickerson from Hickory Flat, Mississippi, in 1965. The couple made their home in Holly Springs. Gwen passed away in 1995 after 30 years of marriage.

Lola Faye was employed by Southern Bell Telephone Company, the Wurlitzer Company and Jennie's Florist all in Holly Springs. She spent her final years living in the Kirkwood National Golf Course community and loved her neighbors. She enjoyed working in her yard, following the St. Louis Cardinals, painting, working with the girls at Jennie's, and traveling with her best friends and their families. She loved following her nephew, Doug Teel and his family, as well as her daughter and grandchild en to various sporting events.

Lola Faye is preceded in death by her parents, Curtis Ford and Donnie Mae Teel; as well as all of her brothers, Gene, Curtis Don, Philip, Warren and Wayne. She is survived by her only child, daughter Dianene Dickerson Fant (David) of Holly Springs; her three grandchildren, Lauralee Fant Nowell (Taylor) of Hernando, Mississippi, John Tucker Fant (fiancé Bailie Springfield) and David Winston Fant of Holly Springs; her great grandchildren, Lola James and Steven Warner Nowell. She also leaves behind her best friends Mary Howell and Megan Teel Stanton.
Pallbearers include Doug Teel, Colter Teel, Nick Stanton, Seth Stanton, Terry Chapman, Bob Dickerson, David Johnson, Teddy Bryant, Harold Murphy, John David Strickland and Shane Strickland.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Carey Chapel Baptist Church

Lola Faye was a close friend through high school. Facebook posting have shown close family and friends support through the years. She was a very special lady. Prayers for comfort and peace are with you.
