Holly Springs Funeral Home

Michael Eugene Bradshaw

"Coach" Michael Eugene Bradshaw, 70, of Holly Springs, passed away at his home on October 28, 2024.  He was born in DeWitt, Arkansas, on November 14,1953, to Bobby Bradshaw and  Sue Reeves Bradshaw Horton.  Coach was a retired principal, coach and teacher with the Arkansas School System.  He also recently retired from twenty years at Landers Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep Ram in Southaven, where his coworkers were like family to him.

Coach was a member of Kirby Woods Baptist Church, in Memphis, where he accepted Christ as his Savior.  He loved to make people laugh, and he joked with everyone he spoke to.  Coach never met a stranger, had a heart of gold, and cherished his family most of all.  He looked forward to his trips to the beach with his family, and though he never went down to the water, he always got his belly full with "royal reds", while he fed everyone at the table off his platter.  He also loved joking with his grandkids about his Arkansas Razorbacks, frequently calling the hogs, "Woo Pig Sooie"!!

Coach leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Peggy Lanell Bradshaw, a daughter, Laura  Pounders (Jessie) of Covington, Louisiana, and a son, Lance Bradshaw (Vivi) of Cove, Arkansas.  He also leaves three extended daughters, Sherrie Ruiz (Armando) of Ashland, Karen Bolden (Ron) of Holly Springs, and Sonia Hurdle (Heath), also of Holly Springs, two  brothers, Cary Bradshaw (Leah) of Meridian, Mississippi, and Scott Bradshaw (Natalie) of Pensacola, Florida, and a sister, Karen Horton McKewen (Barry) of Dewitt, Arkansas.  Also surviving Coach are twelve grandchildren, Gunner, Gwin, Tatum, Finley, Maris, Christopher, Zack, Wesley, Rusty, Riley, Ty'Michael, and Kortny, six great grandchildren, Sarah, Chasity, Bethany, Anna Kathryn, Oakley, and Ruby Jean, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his step father, Homer Horton, a grandson, Dustin Stacks, and a brother, Wyatt Bradshaw of DeWitt, Arkansas.

Services for Coach Bradshaw will be held in the Chapel of the Holly Springs Funeral Home on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at noon. A visitation for family and friends will begin at 10:00 am,  and continue until service time. Burial will be in Hill Crest Cemetery. Pall bearers will be Heath Hurdle, Ron Bolden, Christopher Stacks, Zachary Stacks, Rusty Bolden, Riley Bolden, Ty Hurdle, Chad Mitchell, Armando Ruiz, Wesley Bolden, Gunner Bradshaw, Jessie Pounders, and Lance Bradshaw.

Scott/Wyatt; sorry to hear about big brother Mike, but I know that Sue, Little Bit, and grandma Myrte, and Wyatt was glad to see him again But when the Reeves Grocery was around and y’all were there it was so much fun. Karen: I enjoyed visiting with Sue and whenever I would see her, she and Mama (Jewel Lockhart) were closer the older mom got and she would always tell me something that Sue had bragged about you boys.
Laura and Lance, sorry to hear about Mike but from what Carolyn had told me, he didn’t suffer long and y’all will see him again.
My heartfelt sympathy to each of you.
Mary Beth Lockhart Farrester
