It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, sister,
aunt, and friend, Marie Palmer, at the young age of 74. She passed away peacefully in
her home in Waterford, MS surrounded by her family.
Marie was born in Marshall county, MS on April 24, 1950 to Robert and Evelyn Culver.
She attended Holly High School. During those years she helped on the family farm. In
1972, she married the love of her life, Donald Palmer, and they began their love story in
Grenada. Marie worked for many years as a seamstress at the Pennaco Hoisery mill.
Throughout her life she enjoyed many hobbies including gardening, canning vegetables,
going to garage sales, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Marie
always put others before self. She was a kind and caring soul with a servants heart.
Marie attended Spring Hill Baptist Church in Waterford.
She is survived by her daughter, Lorea Palmer Perkins, granddaughters, Mary Katelyn,
and Anna Claire Perkins, of Oxford, MS. She also leaves behind four siblings, Clyde
Culver (Faye), Calvin Culver (Debbie), Sandra Wilson (William), and Faye Holland
(Duck), all of Waterford.
She was proceeded in death by her husband, Donald W. Palmer, a son, Blake Palmer
(Tina) of Grenada; parents Robert and Evelyn Culver, brothers Lester Culver, and David
Culver, all of Waterford. She was also proceeded in death by her devoted partner,
Robert L. Herring, Germantown, TN.
Funeral service for Mrs Palmer will by held at Spring Hill Baptist Church on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at 1:00 pm. A visitation for family and friends will begin at 11:00 am, at the church, and continue until service time. Burial will be in the Culver Family Cemetery. The Holly Springs Funeral Home has charge.
