Walter George Owen Sr
Walter George Owen Sr, 83, passed away at his home in Red Banks on Wednesday, September 18, 2024. He was born in Memphis, Tennessee, on January 12, 1941, to William Owen and Bertie Climer Owen. Mr Owen was a plant engineer and farmer. Mr Owen is survived by his wife Dorothy Clark Owen of Red Banks, a son, Walter George Owen (Tina French Owen) Jr, of Red Banks, and a daughter, Cecelia Owen Hester (Curtis), also of Red Banks. He also leaves five grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a spouse, Melba Sue Owen, a brother, Johnny Owen, and three sisters, Dorothy Parham, Juanita Proctor, and Bessie Lewis. Services for Mr Owen will be held in the Chapel of the Holly Springs Funeral Home on Friday, September 20, 2024, at 2:00 pm. The family will recieve family and friends at a visitation, beginning at noon, and lasting until service time. Burial will be in Mt Pleasant Cemetery, following the service.,

Our heart goes out to Dorothy and pray that God will give her peace. Walter and his family have been friends of ours for over 50 years. Walter was a pleasure to be around. He always had a smile for everyone. He was a hard worker. Seems like whenever Fred would talk with him he was on his tractor or tending to his cattle He always had a very sweet personality and laughed very easily. He will be missed by everyone that knew him. Fred and Walter talked to each other at least once a month. He will miss talking to Walter. Love and God Bless his family.
