Letitia Kathleen Kight

Letitia "Kay" Kathleen McKenzie Kight, 89, of Byhalia, passed away at Baptist Hospice in Collierville, Tennessee,  on October 7, 2024.  She was born in McKenzie,Tennessee, on November 14, 1934, to Norman McKenzie and Kathleen Givens McKenzie.  Mrs Kight was a homemaker, and served on the Byhalia Board of Alderman for eight years, and was an active member of theFirst Presbyterian Church of Byhalia.  Mrs Kight was an avid reader, who sang at numerous events in her earlier years.

Mrs Kight is survived by a son, David Kight (Lee-Ann) of Olive Branch, and two daughters, Kathleen Kight Merritt (George) of Virginia Beach, Virginia, and Helen Kight Warren (Lance) of Collierville.  She also leaves eight grandchildren George Merritt, Matthew Merritt, Benjamin Merritt, Anna McBride, Kaylie Warren, Leighten Anderson, Max Kight, and Jacob Kight, and eight great grandchildren.  Mrs Kight was preceded in death by her husband of fifty years, Rodney Dale Kight, and her parents.

A memorial service for Mrs Kight will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at 2:00 pm, at the First Presbyterian Church in Byhalia, Mississippi.  A visitation for family and friends will begin at 1:00 pm, and continue until service time. The Holly Springs Funeral Home has charge.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Byhalia.

Kathleen, David and Helen...no words can tell how much your mom and dad were loved by me, and everyone else who knew them. They always loved me, encouraged and supported me and made me laugh. MS. Kay's faithfulness assisted me in my journey with God. May the Happy memories stay with you and wrap you right now and always. Prayers and love to you and yours!
