Johnnie Sue Johnson Brown, age 84, passed away peacefully on April 21, 2025. A devoted member of Bethlehem Church of the Lord Jesus Christ, she served faithfully for over 70 years, including many years as a Sunday School teacher.
A woman of strong faith and quiet strength, Johnnie Sue was known for her deep love for God, her family, and her community. She was also a talented seamstress, whose hands created not only garments but cherished memories stitched with care and devotion.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Onis Brown Jr.; her parents, John and Jewel Johnson; her brother, James Johnson and his wife, Janice; and her son-in-law, Ronnie Lumpkin.
She is lovingly remembered by her children, Kathy Brown Lumpkin and David Johnson (Katrina); her grandchildren, Joshua Kyle Lumpkin (Shawnta), Daniel Kent Lumpkin (Jonna), Hannah Alyce Johnson Jacks (Ethan), and Kristin Dale Lumpkin; and her great-grandchildren, Hunter, Azariah, Emberlie, Shiloh, and Judah.
Johnnie Sue’s life was a testament to faith, grace, and unwavering love. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
Services will be held at Bethlehem Church of the Lord Jesus Christ on Friday, April 25, 2025.
The viewing will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m.
She will be laid to rest at the Bethlehem Church of the Lord Jesus Christ Cemetery
