James Michael Ward, 19, of Potts Camp, passed away in New Albany on September 19, 2024. He was born in Tupelo, Mississippi, on March 14, 2005, to Michael Anthony Ward and Orethia Faye Coats Ward. He was a student. Michael was a true free spirit and a master of jokes.
A professional little brother, he kept his seven sisters on their toes with his antics, always finding ways to make the mundane a bit more fun (even when it wasn't). His laughter was infectious, and he was a fiercely loyal friend to many.
He was a jokester, but most of his jokes were inside jokes that only he would understand, which made them even funnier to him. Like "Watermelon". Michael had a passion for driving fast-- if only there had been a paycheck for it!! His enthusiasm for life was contagious, and he was loved by all who knew him.
Michael leaves his parents, and seven sisters, Stachia Joy Wait (Joey) of Hickory Flat, Michelle L Martin (Randy) of Potts Camp, Melissa Bright (Devin) of Hickory Flat, Amber Miller (Kevin) of Potts Camp, Rebekah Ward of Etta, Jeana Ward of New Albany, and his twin sister, Jaycee Patton (Will) of Oxford. He also leaves sixteen nieces and nephews.
Michael may have left us, but his spirit will always be remembered in the laughter he brought to our lives.
Services for Michael will be held at the Bethlehem Church of the Lord Jesus Christ on Sunday, September 22, 2024 at 3:00 pm. A visitation for family and friends will begin 1:00 pm, and will continue until service time. Burial will be in the Behtlehem Church Cemetery. |
