On Friday, January 13, 2023, Charles Aldrich Breedlove, loving husband and father of two, went to be with the Lord at the age of 82.
Charles was born on January 31, 1940, in Benton County, Mississippi, to Cora Lee and Clyde Breedlove. Charles was raised on the family farm and attended Ashland School.
Charles proudly served his country in the Mississippi National Guard and the United States Navy. Charles worked 39 years for Michigan Wisconsin Pipeline Company, which evolved into ANR and finally the Coastal Corporation. He loved his work, and with his God given hard work ethics, rose from temporary maintenance worker to welder to district superintendent. Charles Breedlove was a true American success story, an inspiration to family and friends.
In December of 1995, he retired from pipelining and returned home to Benton County to a farm, where he fulfilled a life long dream of raising cattle.
Charles was a faithful member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church, where he served as church treasurer and trustee.
Charles is survived by his wife of 64 years and 8 months, Pauline Pittman. He was often heard to say Pauline was "The love of his life" and with him "It was love at first sight".
Charles was the father of two sons, Terry Charles Breedlove of Plano, TX, and Jerry Dean Breedlove of Michigan City, MS.
Charles is survived by two brothers, Jimmy Dale Breedlove of Jackson, TN, and Michael Dean Breedlove of Michigan City, MS. Sister Debbie Breedlove of Ashland, MS. Daughter in law Laurie Wright Breedlove of Plano, TX. Granddaughters Olivia Rhett Breedlove of Plano, TX, and Katherine Elizabeth "Kate" Breedlove-Robinson of Monroe, LA, Hailey Nichole "Nikki" Breedlove of Winnsboro, LA, Virginia Claire Breedlove of San Ramo, CA. Great granddaughters Sophie Jeannette Robinson of Monroe, LA, and twins Beatrice Lucy and Tallulah Parks Breedlove of San Ramo, CA.
Finally Charles is survived by his nieces Tammy Breedlove and Bell Wilburn, along with many others too numerous to list.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents Clyde A. and Cora Lee Breedlove of Michigan City, MS. Two brothers Clyde "Sonny Boy" and Bobby Breedlove of Michigan City, MS.
Services will be held in the Chapel of the Holly Springs Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 17, 2023, at 11:00 am. A visitation for family and friends will be held at the Funeral Home on Monday evening from 4:00 until 7:00 pm. Burial, following the service, will be at Rice Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
